The fact is that rescues are overrun with more cats and kittens each year, especially in the spring/summer months ('kitten season'), when good foster homes are needed more than ever. A caring fosterer can really turn a cat's life around for the better.
The newest foster home program is called a Sleep-Over. This program allows the fostering party to take home a pet for 1 to 4 nights. Upon returning the pet to the shelter, the fostering party will complete a form sharing all the information collected about the pet during their visit including information such as: did the pet like other pets, housebroken, tolerates cats, likes children, etc.

Foster: For those of you not looking to adopt, who always travel, or whatever your reason may be, fostering is a wonderful and FREE alternative to adoption. We give you all the supplies you need to take care of one (or more!) of our dogs or cats. We usually ask you foster for a minimum of 2 weeks.

Puppies and kittens need foster homes until they have received at least 2 rounds of vaccinations and weigh enough to be spayed or neutered. Puppies are generally a two-week commitment and kittens are typically a four-week commitment.
